Born in Lopez, Tayabas, August 31, 1893; the son of Pio Salumbides and Trinidad Aranillo; married to the former Miss Rosario H. Pañganiban of Macabebe, Pampanga, by whom he has five children: Thelma Teresita, Vilma Socorro, Nida Trinidad, Marlene Maria, and Ruby Rosario. Educated in the Manila High School (now Araullo), St. Ignatius University, the University of Southern California, the Philippine Law School, and the National Law College, where he graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Laws in 1922; was a soldier in France under the American forces during the World War; writer, actor, and director of motion pictures in the Philippines; attorney for the Philippine Trust Company and Fidelity and Surety Company; and elected delegate to the Constitutional Convention from the 2nd district of Tayabas, in 1934. He belongs to the Natinoalist party. A Roman Catholic by religion.
