Vicente Ybáñez

YBAÑEZ, Dr. Vicente B. - Physician and Surgeon; res., Cebu, Cebu.

Born in Carcar, Cebu, on July 19, 1894; son of Agapito Ybañez and Concepción Barcenilla; educated at the Carcar Elementary School during the Spanish regime, and at the public schools of the same town during the early part of American occupation, and graduated from the Cebu Provincial High School, in 1914; enrolled at the College of Liberal Arts, University of the Philippines, where he finished his preparatory course in medicine (A.A.), and obtained his M.D. degree from the College of Medicine, same university, in 1920; worked in the Philippine General Hospital and in the Southern Islands Hospital; was president, Sanitary Division of Cebu, 1920-22; and physician in charge, Cebu Portland Cement Co., at Tinaan, Naga, Cebu, 1922-31. Dr. Ybañez is a member of the Cebu Medical Society and the Manila Medical Association, and of many other prominent local organizations. Married. A Roman Catholic.
