VICTOR SCHREIFELS Services for Victor N. "Vic" Schreifels, age 77, of Melrose, who died Tuesday, Feb. 1 at the Melrose Area Hospital. were Friday, Feb. 4 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. Rev. Vincent Lieser officiated, with burial following in the parish cemetery. Victor Schreifels was born Oct. 26, 1922 in Richmond to John and Frances (Kron) Schreifels. He was united in marriage to Lorraine Barthel on November 23, 1948 at the Church of Seven Dolors in Albany. The couple lived in Melrose where Vic was employed as a maintenance engineer with Kraft Foods in Melrose until retiring in 1985. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing and also made baskets and played the guitar and accordian. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. Mr. Schreifels is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Melrose; son James of Melrose; and brothers and sisters, Celesta "Les" Denne of Bismark, N.D., Cyril and Val Schreifels, of Melrose Ellen Primus of Hawley, Esther and Henry Steinemann of Freeport, Delpine "Del" and Bob Gieske of Paynesville, Alice and Jack Moening of Melrose, Howie and Pat Schreifels of Coon Rapids and Iris and Jerry Hiltner of Melrose. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Marcellus and sister, Julia. Casket bearers were Randy Barthel, Russel Gieske, Russel Middendorf, Rick Moening, Roger Primus and Dale Schreifels; and serving as cross bearer was Victors Godson, Gary Schreifels.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church for Victor N. Schreifels, 77, who died Tuesday at Melrose Area Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Melrose. Parish prayers will be 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Melrose.
