About Victoria Gomez
Information from page 326 of https://cubangenclub.org/upload/files/Historia_de_Sancti-Spiritus_-...
In 1751, Dionisio de Leiva and his wife, Victoria Gomez, passed away. The inheritance, a corral "La Concepcion" with all the cattle and accesories, was willed to their only daughter, Juana Bautista de Leiva. Alejandro Cervantes, husband of Juana Bautista, in the name of his wife, accepted the inheritance. The inheritance came with a tax donation of 300 pesos in favor of the (Cofradia) Brotherhood del Rosario. This is an example of Afro-Cubans, owning valuable land and property and leaving it to their children.
