Victoria Grace McMillan

Victoria Grace McMillan was born at 59 Sale St, Hokitika, in 1898, the 3rd daughter of Robert McMillan and Mary Agnes Stewart. Made an orphan when her mother died during childbirth in 1900 and her father accidentally shot himself in 1909, Grace was brought up by the Preston family of Hokitika. In 1919 she married a Thomas Wells of Woodstock at the home of her birth. She had 1 son and three daughters. Thomas and Grace brought a property at 154 Kaniere Rd where they brought up their children. When Thomas died she moved into a house in Kaniere when the house was left to the son Jack. She died of a stroke in 1966.
