Vilma Kaufman

Vilma kaufman Heda was an Aushwitz survivor, loving wife, and Aunt. Raised in Slovakia, she sadly witnessed the death of her mom, dad, and others. She never talked of the concentration camp although her camp number was prominently displayed on her arm.

After World War 2, Her and her husband, Ladislav, moved to the United States and later sponsered her brother Otto's relocation to the United States in 1958.

Vilma Kaufman acted as surrogate Grandmother to Ottos children, who loved her unconditionally and spent much time with her. Cruelly, She was diagnosed with lung cancer in the eraly 80s and perished in 1984.
