About Vincenza Saliba
Vincenza Zammit Flores' family were of noble blood (Count from her father side). Her mother's brother owned a candle factory and were very rich. When she decided she was to marry Joseph Saliba, her family tried to persuade her not to do so and threatened to disown her. It is unknown if her family really disowned her. She had many children. After the death of her husband, whom she loved, she became depressed and spent most of her time on his grieve. Her youngest daughter, Josephine at the time 8 years old, was sent to an orphanage since Vincenza couldn't find the strength to take care of her daughter. Vincenza was forced to sell her husband's workshop and some of his work so that she could feed her children. Some of his work have been inherited and are in the possession of his grandchildren.
