About Violet Yolande Lyttelton
As a young woman Violet Yolande Leonard travelled from her home in South Africa to England with her father, Charles Henry Brandt Leonard. They lived at 18 Kensington Palace Gardens, said - in later years at least - to be the most expensive house in the world. In England, Violet met John Cavendish Lyttleton, whom she married. Their son, Charles John Lyttleton, became the 10th Viscount Cobham, and their daughter, Viola Maud, married Robert George Grosvenor, the 5th Duke of Westminster. Their son was Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor, the 6th Duke, and father of the present, 7th Duke, Hugh Richard Louis Grosvenor.
