Virgil Lee Halk

Letter from Edith Marion Collins (daughter of Fred & Meady Sharp Collins) to Lynn ?, about 1991:

"Clora Ann married Dan Halk their children were Mary, Marie, Virgil, Clifford, Vadia? Dorothy and Harvie Linzy.

Virgil was killed when he was about sixteen. He was standing on the "running board" of Granpa's new truck and the growth along the road swept him under the truck and it ran over him. Remember the roads in those days were dirt and mud & one way!

I just can't remember anything about Clifford, but he died at an early age (10-12) Vadia died at age seven or eight.

She & I went from Kieser, Ark. to Wilson, Ark. to have our tonsils removed, she never came home.

(I was five years old, she a little older)."
