Vivian Cordeau

Born: August 11th, 1937 Passed in: Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed on: July 17th, 2012 It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Vivian Cordeau, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born on Aug. 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah (Bonnar) Vickers. She was a member of Immaculate Conception parish, Sydney Mines and was a past member of the CWL and the CND Associates. In earlier years mom enjoyed volunteering her time in her children’s various activities. She was a very active person who loved walking, swimming, baking and spending time with family & friends. Vivian is survived by her husband, Joe; her daughters, Claudette (Daniel Bradley), Boisdale, Angela, Sydney Mines and Ann (Joe Lavery), Southside Boularderie and her sons, Marcel (Sharon Rideout), Hammonds Plains and Joseph, Fort Saskatchewan, Alta. Vivian was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren, Alexandra Cordeau, David and Rebecca Bradley and Abigail Lavery. Also surviving are her sisters, Jessie MacKinnon, Ontario, Lorraine (Dwight) Finlayson & Ann (Brian) Ferguson, both of Sydney Mines; her brother, Devlin (Joan) Vickers, Millville and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Vivian was predeceased by her brothers, Edgar, Russell, Augustus & Ferdinand and her sisters, Catherine, Loretta Habicht, Jean Nicholson, Willena LeBlanc and Mae MacInnis. In honouring her wishes there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Sydney Mines with Fr. J.J. MacDonald officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Sydney Mines. Donations in Vivian’s memory may be made to the Arthritis Society or a charity of one’s choice.
