In the 1861 Census for Preston, William and Jane are living right next door to their daughter, Susannah, and her husband, William Harling. At this time, William was 64 years old, and still working as a "laborer."

• * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The 1825 Directory for Preston, Lancashire, gives a Joseph BILLINGTON as a shoemaker, with his place of work at 13 Dover Street. The BOOTMAKER connection is interesting -- is this how our Eastham/Marsden connection was first initiated?

In the same 1825 Preston Directory, Edward BILLINGTON appears as a cheesemonger, with his place of business located at 26 Friargate.

Joseph BILLINGTON is in the directory as a Plasterer, with his place of business at 13 Chapel Yard! Our Easthams lived at Chapel Yard!

James BILLINGTON, a tea dealer, had his place of business at 31 Bridge Street.

"If the Susannah below is confirmed to be yours then I can certainly help you with possible connections of her family. In the 1841 census of Preston I have a record of a Susannah Billington aged 9 years living in Bleasdale St, Preston with mother Jane aged 35 years,Father William 35yrs, sister Elizabeth 15years,Sister Margery 15yrs,Sister Sarah 14yrs, Sister Jane 7 yrs, Sister Mary 1 year. Brother Joseph 1yr(twins?) Dwelling: 6 St Peters St Census Place: Preston, Lancashire, England

"Although not confirmed yet, I also have a Wm and Jane Marriage which could pertain to the above Wm and Jane who married in Kirkham and whom had a daughter Ann that married a Joseph Payne in 1844, these are Ann and Josephs children and sponsors in case you come across any of these sponsor names in your research: Ann was Baptised on the 8th January 1829 in Kirkham.
