William Love Dillard born in NC was the 3rd son of John and Sarah (last name unknown) Dillard of Gilmer County, GA. He lived much of his life in Polk County, TN with his wife Martha White Dillard.

John Dillard was born ~1782 in VA, the son of Col Thomas Dillard Jr. and Martha Webb. John died in Jul 1849 (listed on the 1850 Mortality Census)

Prior to the move to Gilmer Co. NC they lived in Haywood Co and Macon Co NC.
