Walter Hunter Coddington may have wanted to rent a house in the following Times transcription: '1941 - "Wanted to Rent, unfurnished preferably, Period House with 5-6 bed rooms, 2-3 reception, modern conveniences ; within 30 miles north of London. - Hunter, Coddington..., Therfield, near Royston, Herts." He was listed during the Second World War in the London Gazette as being granted a commission 'for the duration of hostilities as Acting Pilot Officer on Probation' on 14 March 1941. He was one of the 'Acting Pilot Officers on probation' who were 'graded as Pilot Officers on probation' in the London Gazette on 30 May 1941. As of 1945, Walter Hunter Coddington was also known as W Hunter-Coddington in the Phone Book. He appeared as 'Squadron-Leader R.A.F.V.R Officers Mess. R.A.F.. Stafford...' on 8 June 1945. He died on 13 July 1993 at Suffolk, England, at age 85; and his death was recorded at Deben Registration district at that time. He was buried at Saint Bartholomew, Orford, Suffolk, England.
