About Major Walter Edwin Birchenough
A partner in the firm of John Birchenough, Silk Manufacturers of Macclesfield, Cheshire. He lived at Foden Bank Cottage, Byrons Lane, Macclesfield.
Of great interest to the writer, I and my family lived at the same house from 1958 to 1968. I was first married from there in 1961. The main house was of Georgian construction. The cottage was attached to the southern end. During this period it was inhabited by Martin and Daphne Collins. Martin became Judge Collins.
