Final Services For Former Lindsay Citizen

The funeral services of Walter Spencer were held last Saturday afternoon at the Lowe Brothers Undertaking parlors. Rev. John Samuel, of the Congregational church was in charge, and the music was furnished by members of the church choir. Interment was at the Glendive Cemetery.

Mr. Spencer had been a resident of this section for many years, farming land near Lindsay, and Union. The family lived in Glendive for 9 months when a real sorrow came into their life. Clarence, one of their boys, was drowned at the local swimming pool. As he was 19 years of age it proved to be a serious bereavement to them. At Glendive the family were attendants at the Congregational church.

Mr. Spencer was born at Rush River, Wis. Nov 14. 1866 and at the time of his decease was 62 years of age. He was married Jan.27 1890, and five children were born into their home:

  • 1. Mrs. John S. Friedland, Union;
  • 2. Lloyd W. Spencer, Bloomfield; and
  • 3. Mrs. Charles E. Borigo, of Trout Lake, Washington, who survive with their mother and
  • 4. Clarence and
  • 5. another son who passed away in Wisconsin many years ago.

At the time of his death Mr. Spencer was at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Borigo, at Trout Lake, Wis.
