Wanda M. Thomas

Wanda Marks Thomas, 48, of Orange County passed away Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. Born July 29, 1957, in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of the late Ernest McCue Marks.

Survivors include her mother, Martha S. Marks of Orange; her husband, James E. Thomas; her daughter, Heather R. Ryder and her husband, Michael, of Locust Grove; her son, Andrew E. Carpenter of Unionville; sisters Patsy M. Harlow of Madison County and Linda M. Thomas and her husband, Michael, of Orange; granddaughters Blaire E. and Bayleigh Smith and Brooklyn Ryder, all of Locust Grove; a grandson, Dylan Carpenter of Gordonsville; a number of uncles and nephews; and one niece.

A funeral will be held Monday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. at Preddy Funeral Home, Orange. Interment will follow in Walkers United Methodist Church cemetery in Madison Mills. Pastor Nick Sylvia will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, Nov. 13, from 7 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Whispering Hope Chapel, 3045 Ivy Road, Charlottesville, Va. 22906.
