About Wendy Sue Eickhoff

Wendy S. (Dickinson) Eickhoff, 50, of Plymouth, Minnesota, passed on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

A celebration of her life will take place at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest starting on noon on Saturday, Oct. 28. Dress is casual.

Wendy Sue Dickinson was born on June 7, 1967, in Iowa City, Iowa, to David and Marvis (Okeson) Dickinson. She grew up in Austin, Minnesota, and attended Austin High School and Austin Community College (now Riverland Community College) where she won the junior college state championship in women’s singles tennis in 1987. She graduated from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Business in 1989.

She was united in marriage to Joseph Eickhoff on Dec. 4, 1993, in Minneapolis.

She was an active, athletic person her entire life. She continued to play tennis (many times practicing with the men’s team because her ground strokes were so fierce) as well as volleyball, softball and downhill skiing. She will be missed for her infectious laugh, her positive attitude towards life and her generous, giving nature.

Wendy is survived by her husband, Joe; her two children, Logan and Nicholas; her parents; her sisters, Shelley (Bruce) Johnson, Mary Griffiths, and Nancy (Kendal) Norberg; brother, John Dickinson; aunt, Kay (Harry) Kuefler; her Thom and Smedberg cousins; and nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by uncles, Don Thom and Jerry Smedberg; and aunt, Jeanne Smedberg.

Memorials to the ALS Association are preferred.
