Werner de Bruin (1987 - 2020)

Brief overview:

Werner (33), was shot on his smallholding in Mooiplaats, Boschkop, Pretoria, when three armed males tried to gain entry to his home, and shot him in the chest through a glass door, on 20th August 2020. Werner managed to crawl to the security door and lock it.

Werner, and his partner, Charlotte Freeman (46), worked for veterinarian Dr Ockert Botha, and lived in a separate house on the smallholding. Doctor Botha said Charlotte called him around 1am to tell him their dogs were barking and the alarm went of. A policeman who lives on the smallholding next door called emergency services and security. Werner died before they arrived.
