Wesley Wood (1981 – 2011)

Brief overview:

Wesley (30), was stabbed to death on his farm, Kromarty Estate, in the Doringkop area near KwaDukuza, on 18th September 2011, whilst trying to flee from attackers with his two-year-old daughter.

Two year old Hannah, had entered the farmhouses's back door covered in blood and severely traumatised, her grandfather Gordon Wood said.

Two or three attackers were hiding under the canopy of a van until the family arrived home from the beach.

Sara Wood had put her eldest child, Rebecca (3), in the bath, then went out to fetch something from the van. It was then that she was pinned to the ground by the attackers, but managed to escape and lock herself in the bathroom.

It was at that moment Wesley came back from the chicken battery and he grabbed his youngest daughter and fled with her to the front garden without knowing where the rest of his family was. The attackers chased him around and stabbed him in the lung with a knife. He died at the scene.
