<p>North Church rook Knight &amp; Abigail Munson moved to Linville, Maine in 177 0, took up land &amp; cleared it. They had the honor of being the first perman ent settlers, theirs' was the first cleared farm. Westbrook Knight enlist ed as a Private in in Captain Archibald McAllister's Company, in Col. Samu el Cobb's Regiment on 11 Jul 1779. He was discharged 24 Sep 1779. This rec ord Canada be found in the 'Muster Books of Revolutionary War Soldiers'. C harles Tibbetts in his Knight Family Genealogy states that soon after t he death of this first Westbrook Knight, his children removed to Lincol n, Waldo &amp; Washington Counties &amp; his 85 Grandchildren did their part in po pulating the eastern section of Maine.
