Wife1 born Norval, adopted Maeder

Margaret Ann Norval was born on 24 Feb 1892 and baptized on 25 Sept 1892. Her birth mother was the unmarried Anna Catharina Norval and her father remains unknown. She was adopted (possibly at the time of her baptism) by Edward Maeder & Mary Jane (Norval) Maeder who were childless and in their fifties at the time. The Maeder family included other adopted children including Gertrude Jane Knight (who married Lewis Plenderleith) and David Felix Webber. After her adoptive mother died in 1905 and her adoptive father in 1908, she became the ward of her adoptive sister's husband L. F. Plenderleith. In 1911 (age 19, and still a minor) she married George Morgan Hugh Norval in Colesberg. At the time a George was farming in Lalahanzi, Gwelo Dist., Rhodesia.
