Wilbert J. Webber Funeral services for Wilbert J. Webber, 75, of 521 E. Jackson St., were held at 9:30 a.m. today in Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. Donald Koeher officiating. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Mr. Webber died at 8:30 p.m. Friday in Morris Hospital after a long illness. Honorary pallbearers were Merton Freeland, Siegal Sampson, Edward Quinn, Rome Graham, Charles Hansen and Harry Leach. Pallbearers were Gary De-lockery, James Webber, Jack McNabb, Lester Tborsen, John Struck and Dennis Delockcry. Mrs. Donald Pellegrini was soloist and Mrs. Christian Res-ler was the organist.
Born Feb. 16, 1895 in Morris, he was the son of Dorie and Bridget (Moran) Webber. For many years he lived in West Frankfort where he worked as a coal miner. Mr. Webber made his home in Morris for the past 20 years after his retirement. In World War I he served with the U.S. Army in France participating in several big battles during the latter part of the conflict. Mr. Webber was a member of the American Legion Post No. 294 in Morris. Surviving are three sisters. Mrs. Fred (Mary) Duncan. Mrs. Chris (Clara) Dickman and Mrs. William (Eloise) De-lockery, all of Morris; a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife who was the former Kate Balbinot, three sisters and five brothers. Fruland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
