OBITUARY MRS. MINNIE NEBEN

Mrs Minnie Neben, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ahrens, was born on October 22, 1877, in Germany, and departed this life on November 28, 1950, in Lexington, Nebraska.

At the age of six years she emigrated with her parents to America and ultimately settled in Cherry County. On February 6, 1900, she was united in marriage to Pastor Frederick Neben. This marriage was blessed with ten children; Mrs. W. Kroeger of Omaha; Fred of Lexington; Edward, a pastor at Crookston; Mrs. C. Rathke of Lexington; Hugo of Lexington; Max of San Diego, California, who is now serving in the United States Navy; Bruno of Lexington; Albert, deceased; Walter of Lexington; and Mrs. Norman Suhr of Bertrand.

Mr. and Mrs. Neben made their home in the Lutheran parsonage at Campbell, from 1900 to 1903; and at Clearwater, from 1903 to 1918. In 1919 they lived in Elgin and came to Dawson county in the same year. Mr. Neben preceded her in death in 1926, and one son, Albert, departed this life in 1916. A sister, Mrs. P. Reimers, died in 1939.

Besides her sons and daughters she is survived by a sister, Mrs. H. Reimer of Crookston, Twenty grandchildren, and numerous relatives and friends.

Mrs. Neben became seriously ill on Saturday and was taken to the hospital where she slept peacefully away on Tuesday morning. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. L. Whittenburg from the Newman Chapel and the First Lutheran Church at Buffalo, on Thursday, November 30.

A quartet composed of Martin Gierhan, Jr., Ferdinand Kopf, Ervin Knoop, and William Schmidt rendered two numbers, "Asleep in Jesus," and "The Lord is My Shepherd." Mrs Neben's six sons served as her pallbearers.

Interment was in the Buffalo cemetery.
