William Michael Schaffer 66, passed away peacefully in his Houston home on Tuesday March 18, 2014. A loving husband, wonderful father, and extremely devoted and committed Houstonian, Mr. Schaffer cared deeply for the well-being of both his family and his city, for which he spent his entire career in city planning and development in both the private and public sectors. Mr. Schaffer is preceded in death by his wife of almost 35 years, Beverly Michel Schaffer, parents Max and Ethelyn Schaffer, and stepmother Alice Schaffer. He is survived by daughter Meredith Alicia Schaffer, sister Sharon Zeisman, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
