About Will Chappell
Family legend has it that Will had to go to a well in the community to get water and several days before his death he had a run in with some white boys at the well. They pulled guns and shot at his feet to make him dance while he carried two buckets of water across his shoulders.
Well, legend says Will got back at those 'ole boys some kind of way, don't know how, but several days later someone shot through the window and killed him as he sat eating breakfast .
Research shows that the Klu Klux Klan was active in those parts around about that time.
