Willard Carol Barnett, 72, of Brownsburg, IN passed from this life on Monday, August 9th, 2010 at 9:25 PM at the Prestwick Manor Care in Avon.

He was born on January 10, 1938 in Montgomery County, Kentucky to the late Tice and Florence (Newkirk) Barnett.

Willard moved to Brownsburg from Martinsville in 1986. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union Local #758 and took medical retirement in 1989 from Carl Lower & Associates.

On July 10, 1988 he married Brenda Lee (Vaughn) Barnett; she survives in Brownsburg.

Other survivors include two sons, Tim and Willard Barnett, Jr. both of Martinsville; five daughters, Karen Vice of Kentucky, Sharon Mitchell of Paragon, IN, Jennifer Hamblen and Rachael Baker both of Martinsville and Jessica Barnett of West Lafayette; one brother, Barry Barnett of Kentucky; one sister, Gillie Frye of Kentucky; several grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tom Barnett; two brothers, John & Bill Barnett and four sisters, Elizabeth Barnett, Ruth Fouch, Aggie Hasley and Barb Connelly.

Family and friends are encouraged to visit on Friday, August 13th, 2010 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville. Brother Eddie Law will officiate at a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home and burial will follow in Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
