In Christos Christou and John Barnhouser book, The Descendants of John Arthur of Bedford Co., VA (b. abt. 1707, d: abt 1793) (125 Wiltshire Rd., Baltimore, MD 21221-6935, notes by author, September 1994, pp 2, 4-5, 10-13, states that Benjamin's parents, Ambrose b: abt. 1708 in Ireland -- the fourth (4th) Arthur brother, and his wife Keziah Hargrove, daughter of Augustine Hunnicutt Hargrove and Mary Lane, were killed by Indians and he was raised by his uncle William Arthur (1713) and aunt Ann Murray Arthur (1717). Benjamin would marry William and Ann Murray Arthur's daughter (his cousin) Anne Arthur (1741-1777) on April 23, 1765.

Our Records show that Thomas Barnabas Arthur, Sr did not immigrate. Immigration was by four of his sons, John, James, Thomas Barnabas, and William. One of the ways this migration was accomplished was by use of the Headlight plan of Virginia Colony and this is how the young brothers gained so much Virginia Colony lands so early. Thomas Barnabus Sr. lived and died in Culleybackey as did his wife, Anne Addams Arthur nee Moore. Virginia stayed in Culleybackey and lived with her parents caring for them as they grew older. Upon their death she also migrated to Virginia and died in Goose Creek in 1820.
