This William Ballard was not married to Rachael Mooreman....there are plenty William Ballards to match her uo to but not this one. There are all kinds of deed to prove that his wife was Elizabeth. Also she was not Elizabeth Morris which was proven years ago . Elizabeth Morris married a William Ballard in Warren County about the same time.

Halifax Co., NC Will of William Ballard. 10-Sept-1774, Feb. Court 1775. Named Daughters; Mary Allen, Joyce Langley, Elizabeth Freeman, Martha Finch & Nancy Lenoir. Sons; Walter Clopton Ballard, Deveraux Ballard, dau. Salumith Ballard & son William Sorrell Ballard. Grand daughter Elizabeth Ballard under 21. Wife Elizabeth Ballard. Son William was underage.

This wife Elizabeth would be the 2nd. wife Elizabeth Morris and probably most of the children were from his first marriage.

William had previously lived in Lunenburg/Brunswick Co., Virginia d. Clopton/Ballard -- William Ballard of James City, Goochland, Cumberland and Lunenburg Counties, Virginia and Halifax County, North Carolina
