William Bankes is referred to as "father in law" in the will of Mary Banks' husband, Thomas Bunbury.
"STAFFORD COUNTY, VIRGINIA DEED AND WILL BOOK, 1686 - 1689; THE ANTIENT PRESS PP 41-41a IN THE NAME OF GOD Amen. I being Sick & weeke of Body but of Perfect Sence & Memory Doe bequeath my Soule to my Redeemer and my body to ye Earth, and all ye Rest of my worldly Estate as followeth. ltm, I doe give unto my two Brothers WM. & JNO. BUNBURY the land yt my Father in Law WM. BANKES now lives upon to ym & ye heires for ever to be equally divided betwixt ym & to suffer my sd Father in Law & my Mother his Wife to live quietly & peaceably all yr Lives upon ye Land. itm. I give my Sorrell horse called Rebbell to my Brother WM. BUNBURY. Itm. I give to my Brother JOHN a Cow called limey & her Yearlinge.
