William Banks

There were two William Banks in Schoharie County, New York at about the same time. The other one married the daughter of Revolutionary War hero Timothy Murphy. They lived in a different township.

"Our" William Banks was believed to have had a different birth name and was of Holland origin. His pedigree has not been confirmed.

   Seeking the parents of William BANKS b. 16 Oct 1776, m. (1) 1801 Patence RODMAN daughter of Joseph RODMAN and Mary WEST of Columbia Co, NY and (2) Persena _____. He d. 1 Mar 1849 in Summit, Schoharie Co, NY.

   I thought at one time his parents might be Benjamin BANKS and Judith VANHOESEN of Columbia Co, NY, but have found baptismal records forother children of this pair but not William.

   Note: This is NOT the same William BANKS of Schoharie Co, NY who maried  Polly MURPHY, daughter of ledgedary gunfighter Timothy MURPHY thogh I  collected a great deal of material on that family before findinga Bible  record that differentiated them.

Permilia BANKS (or Perembia or Vermilia) BANKS b. 1816 John BANKS b. 1818 illiam BANKS b. 1821 res. Sullivan Co, NY in 1949 Elizabeth BANKS b. 1823 res. Summit, Schoharie Co, NY in 1849 oseph R. BANKS b. 1826, res. Summit.
