- ' William Beckwith was succeeded by his son' Thomas of Clint, in the fourth year of the reign of Richard the Second ; he held the Manors of Magna Otringer and Huxley near Thursk, and married the daughter of John Sawley of Saxton. Thomas Beckwith was succeeded by his son Adam Beckwith of Clint, who married Elizabeth de Malebisse, and thus reunited the two branches of the Malebisse family, after a separation of over three hundred years. The decision of the Earl-Marshal, dated 1339, is to be seen in the Heraldry office of England (See page 13 for copy of the decision).
