About William Bedford
William was the son of Charles Bedford and Elizabeth Knowles. He married Anna Graham on May 22, 1906 in Des Moines, IA. They did not have children.
July 6, 1922 - Carroll Times - William Bedford, one of the early pioneers of the county, died at his home, 1124 North West street, Monday evening, July 3, at 6:56 o'clock. He had been in poor health for a number of months suffering with heart disease.
Mr. Bedford was born in Yorkshire, England, November 27, 1849 and came to America in 1871, locating in Pleasant Valley township where he farmed until 1904. Since then he has lived in Carroll. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and for a number years had been one of the church elders. Being of a refined and quiet nature and of a friendly disposition he easily made friends, the friendships lasting through life.
He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Anna Graham, one brother, Thomas Bedford, and a sister Mrs. Joseph Annear. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the home at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. W.H. Parker will have charge of the services.
