William "Bill" Lewis Gregory

William Gregory, age 66, of Wellston, Jackson County, Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 13, 1993, at Mercy Hospital in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born on February 20, 1927, in Clinton Township, Vinton County, Ohio. He was a son of the late Calvin Everett and Bessie Ann Bond Gregory. He was the owner and operator of Gregory's Body Shop in Vinton County for over 30 yrs. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was survived by his wife, Dorothy Ann Graves Gregory, one daughter, Jean (Terry) Goodman, two sons, James (Carolyn) Gregory and Stephen (Renea) Gregory, three sisters and one brother-in-law, Ethel Tripp, Merle (Elmer)Patterson, and Oma Graves, eight grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Oren and Robert Elzie Gregory and four infant brothers. Funeral services was at 1 P.M. Tuesday, November 16, 1993 at the Blower-Garrett Funeral Home in McArthur. Burial was in Hamden Cemetery with military graveside services by Vinton County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5299.

Notes: His wife, Dorothy Gregory passed away on October 25, 2007, at age 81, and all three of his sisters have sadly all passed away ending the generation of this family, Oma Graves passed away on December 12, 1999, at age 76 and was buried beside her late husband, Arnold, at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Lancaster, Fairfield County, Ohio, Ethel Tripp passed away just four months after Bill's wife, on February 19, 2008, at age 90 and was buried beside her late husband, Harry, also at Hamden Cemetery and Merle Patterson passed away on March 29, 2010, at age 89 and was buried beside her late husband, Elmer "Doc", at Bell Cemetery in Allensville, Vinton County, Ohio.
