The following is from "South Carolina Memorials: Abstracts of Land Titles, vol. 1 1774-1776," by Jesse Hogan Motes, III and Margaret Peckham Motes.

page 89 - WILLIAM BLACKSTOCK, 11 Mar 1774, 150 acres when runout in Mecklenburg County, N. Carolina, on S side of Tyger River. Bounded by Robt. Cowden's line. Originally granted 26 Sept 1766 to John Irvin by Govr. Tryon and by him conveyed to Wm. Blackstock, 8 Aug 1770, but by a late resurvey, now falls in S. Carolina in Craven County, Wm. (B) Blackstock. [Memorial Book 12, page 471, item 2]

On page 2 of Roy Karl's, Thomas N. Blackstock's family book, he mentions; William Berry Blackstock born abt. 1705, Belfast Ireland. This was taken from a book called; "The Georgians - Genealogies of Pioneer Settlers". On page 7 he states William Berry Blackstock and his wife Mary Irwin left Pennsylvania and moved to what is now known as Union Co. SC. He received the Blackstock Plantation about 1765 through two land grants.
