About William Franklin Bond

During the Mexican War, William was a member of Company C of the Second Kentucky Volunteers, a regiment known as “The Salt River Tigers.” By 1849 William, returned from the war, officially took over his late father's distillery operation. He was 23. The following year William married Sarah Mary Hanks. The couple would go on to have 12 children over the next 19 years.
