About William Bornetun
Bill was born in Bergen Norway. He came to America just before WWI (1913 - 1914). His father and mother died when he was a small child. He then was raised by his grandparents. They gave him a summer vacation to St. James Minnesota. He then refused to return to Norway.
He next moved to Belle Plaine, MN with a family name of Carstensen. This was about 1916. Joe Becker gave Bill a job in the cereal mill and that is where he met Mary.
When the cereal mill closed and moved to Minneapolis, MN, Bill and Joe moved to Minneapolis where they roomed together.
Bill and Mary's children were William, Marion, Robert, Gerold, and Lawrence.
