DNA researchers have linked the Bowling surname to the descendants of Thomas "of the Swan" Bouldinge.
The Bouldin Saga by Katherine Harbury states that the first provable was William l born about 1624-1630 and married Rachael Lewis? from which he later separated. His marriage to Rachael is devoid of surviving children. His next love was Mary Thwaite. With which he had two sons William ll b- 1664-1666 and Thomas b- 1665-1667 who died a young child. William II died on 17 April 1734. William ll Married Thomasin Nash and their children included Col Thomas and his siblings.
