About William Bradshaw

William was born 31 March 1756 in Goochland County, Virginia. His parents were William Bradshaw and Mary Ladd. [1]

Sometime after 16 Sep 1756, William moved with his parents to Albemarle County. There on 10 May 1758, his father purchased from Richard Perkins 200 acres in Albemarle County on both sides of the South Fork of Cunningham Creek on the south side of the Rivanna. [2]

When Fluvanna County was formed from Albemarle in 1777, this land became part of the newly created county.

On 1 August 1777 in Fluvanna County, William Bradshaw made a deed of gift for love and affection to his son William Bradshaw of 66 acres. The land was part of the tract on which William Sr lived at the time. It joined the lands of James Mayo, deceased. [3]

William first appears in the personal property tax list of Fluvanna county in 1785. [4]

He married Milly Melton on 26 August 1788 in Fluvanna County, Virginia. [5]

William died after 1805 after age 48 in Virginia, US
