About William Cranfield, Jr.
Not the same as William Cranfield of Watton-at-Stone
Willian Cranfield, son of William Cranfield, Senior, alias William Glover of Barford, died without issue, before 1570, when his sole heir was his sister Elizabeth. As she died in 1570 his death must have been before this date.
Origins
William was originally William Glover of Kempston Parish, Bedfordshire, England. At his marriage he "adopted for life" the surname Cranfield because his wife, Katherine Cranfield, was a rich heiress. Their children, Elizabeth and William, were all called by the surname Cranfield. William (Sr’s) will was dated in 1536.
