About William Leonard Crismon

William Leonard "Tony" Crismon was the middle son of Gilbert O. and Unia Juergens Crismon born 16 November 1894, Dixon, Maries, Missouri. June 1917, at the age of twenty-two he registered for WWI, already a husband with a new wife, Gussie Van Loon Crismon. They were married, 26 Sept 1916 in Crocker, Mo. In the 1920 Census it lists 25 year old Tony with wife, Gussie and young son, Gilbert living in Tavern, Pulaski, Missouri. Living next door to Gussie's parents, The young Crismon couple owned their own home and it had no mortgage. His occupation was listed as a farmer, however he was also a partner with his brother, Gilbert in a Used Car lot in Waynesville, MO.

By 1930, Gussie was remarried to Otis McDowell living in Deerfield, Vernon, Missouri. Her three children from her marriage with Tony were listed: Gilbert, Kathryn and Charles Crismon however, by the 1940 census they were listed as McDowells.

The life of Tony becomes a mystery between the late 1920's and 1961. In his mother's obituary in 1940 all of the sibling's residence were listed, Tony's was "whereabouts unknown at this time".
