- "Brig. Gen. William Mckee Dunn, U.S.A. retired, a veteran of both World Wars, died Wednesday at his home in Hot Springs, Va. He was 86 years old.
- "General Dunn, who served as a battery commander with the 18th Field Artillery, Third Division in World War I, received the Silver Cross for gallantry at the Battle of Chateau Thierry. During World War II he served as a military attaché to the Allied Government in Exile in London and as a military attaché in Brussels.
- "He was born in Washington and graduated from Yale in 1911.
- "Surviving are his widow, the former Mildred Eddy; 4 daughters, Mrs. Louis A. Cox, Mrs. Orme Wilson Jr., Mrs. William Poland Jr and Mrs. Dunn Burnett; a sister, and 11 grandchildren."
