He represented Surry County in the House of Burgesses in 1706, and his will dated January 9, 1722 was proved in Surry County, February 25, 1722. He appears to have married twice, (1) Elizabeth, a daughter of Col. Benjamin Harrison, the Councillor. With her husband, she made a deed for land at Jamestown in 1707; and according to the inscription on her tombstone, died at the age of 17. William Edwards must then have married a second time, probably a daughter of Micajah Lowe,f nephew of Micajah Perry, of London. Peter Perry, his brother, located in Virginia. (See York County Records, 1684).
