About William Floier, of Floyer Hayes
AKA William Floier, was a prominent soldier. Floyer Hayes was the home for many years of the Floiers, and was held under the Earl of Devon by "the service of waiting paramount, whenever his Lordship should come into Exe Island; the tenant being seemingly appareled with a napkin about his neck or on his shoulders, and having a pitcher of wine and a silver cup in his hand, whereof to offer his lord to drink."
