About William Frazee

Birth:
William is the third born son and child of Joseph.
In 1665, his father Joseph was an original settler of colonial Elizabethtown, Essex Co., New Jersey. The original Elizabethtown grant embraced the present sites of Elizabeth, Newark, Rahway, Plainfield, Piscataway, Woodbridge and Perth Amboy. At the time of his birth, his parents were living in what is now Rahway, Union County, New Jersey.

Death:
In 1704, William died in colonial Elizabethtown, in the area now known as Rahway, Union County, N.J. and is likely buried at or near the Rahway Cemetery. The land wherein the Rahway First Presbyterian Church and the burial grounds is located is said to be likely donated, at least in part, by his father Joseph. William's brother John, who died in 1720, is said to have the first headstone at the cemetery. However, there were burials were conducted at the site prior to 1720

On Jan. 27, 1696-7 he was deeded land by this father.

1703:
The will of William Frazee of Elizabethtown, dated Aug. 16, 1703, and probated May 29, 1704, names wife Martha and childrenWilliam, Sarah and mary, all minors, and brothers Edward, Eliphalet and John. The inventory of the personal estate was appraised Sept. 1, 1703, by Josiah Stanbrow and John Bishop at 62:5:0 pounds, including two Bibles valued at seven shillings. (N.J. Arch. XXIII:172). Papers regarding the Gould family of Caldwell, gathered by the late Rev. C.T.Berry, once pastor of the Caldwell Church, state that John Gould of Elizabethtown m. widow Martha Frazee and had son John Gould, b. 1708 and other children.
