William Henry Frye

SHAMROCK - (Special) - William Henry Frye, 81, a native of Wheeler County, died Wednesday morning in Shamrock General Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Methodist Church of Wheeler with Eugene Henderson, minister of the Shamrock Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial will be in the Wheeler Cemetery by Richerson Funeral Home of Shamrock.

Mr. Frye's parents came to Wheeler County in 184, bought land, and established the Frye Ranch. Mr. Frye was one of the first native born children in the county.

He was cashier of a bank in Texola, Okla. during the early 1900's and later attended chiropractor college. He practiced in Glenrose, Tex. and Sulphur, Okla. before retiring to the Frye Ranch. Mr. Frye was a Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Laura, a daughter, Mrs. Sonny Thomas of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. N. V. Puryear of Boulder City, Nev.; brothers, Tobe and H.T. of Wheeler, and two grandchildren.
