William Robert George

W.R. George, 78, Former News Employe Dies

W.R. George, 78, a former employe of the circulation department of The Birmingham News-Age Herald, died yesterday evening at the South Highland Infirmary after a short illness. Mr. George had been retired for a year.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jessie Myers, of Overton, Al; Mrs. Sanford Cargile, Powderly, and Miss Lorene George, of Little Rock, Ark; three sons, Herchel George of Central Park, Truman George, Sheffield, and Olin George, Little Rock; one brother, Albert George, Irondale; two sisters, Mrs. J.T. Jones, East Lake, and Mrs. Lester McLaughlin, Cook Springs; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
