William Gilbert, Junr. was appointed onr of the City's public measurers on 22 March 1741/42. He was fireman for the West Ward on 7 March 1755 and on 28 May 1761. On the poll list of Feb 1761 he is listed as William Gilbert, Jr. His father's will of 1769 left him a house and lot on Prince Street where his father then dwelt. ~• source: James A.
