William Gregory aged 68 years dided at his home near Griffin, Thursday morning at 2 o'clock Oct. 27th after an illnrss of about two weeks duration. He had been in bad health for the past year, but his death came as a shock to his family and friends who could not believe the end was so near.
Deceased was born Oct. 30, 1851, was the second son of Miles and Mary Gregory, and in 1864 and was married to Miss Louisa Koger, a daughter of the late Alvin Koger, from which union eight children were born, seven of who survive him, being Mrs. James Bell, Mrs. C.F. Koger, Mrs. Silas Dobbs, John M. and George W. Gregory Griffin, Mrs. Fred McCutchen of Bethesda and Alvin Gregory of Turney, Mo., and Marion F. Gregory who died 13 years ago. Deceased had been a consisted member of the Baptist church at Bethel for 23 years. He was a quite peacable mon, likled and respected by all who knew him. A good neighbor, a kind and affectinate husband and father. While he will be sadly missed, we feel our loss in his eternal gain, while sorrowing friends and loved ones placed the body in its last resting place to sleep that knows no waking, his soul had taken its flight through the sweeps of immensity into a land that is all joy. While the family circle is broken, and the sight of the vacant chair is heart rending yet the thought of the glorious transformation should comfort them. For we are not as those that have no hope. Our heavenly Father has given us hope of that blessed immortality, where we shall meet again with those on whom death laid his withering hand, and hear again the voice of my beloved uncle, a meeting that shall never bd dissolved, a reunion the presence of God, where death can never come or rob us of our dearest friends.
