About William Henry Grigsby
(Curator Note: 1896 Cherokee census lists children Daniel (b. 1888) , Emmons (b. 1890), James (b. 1892) Charlotte (b. 1894), and Henry. (b. 1896) Ellen died of consumption in 1899 and husband William listed the same five children on his Dawes application.
I don't see any mention of "Tommy." He's not listed on any census. William and Ellen were married in December, 1886. William filed Eastern apps for all of his children, same five names.)

Obituary:
Funeral service for William H. Grigsby, 90 years old, a long time resident of Adair County, who died at his home in the east part of town Sunday, April 12, after a long illness, was conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. from the Roberts Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Henry Wall, pastor of the Stilwell Baptist church, officiating. Burial was in the cemetery at the old Sixkiller place north of Westville.
The grandsons of Mr. Grigsby were pall bearers and the granddaughters were flower girls. Mrs. Bessie Cunningham and Mrs. Carl Ishmael sang three request songs with Mrs. Grover Howard at the piano.
Mr. Grigsby was born in Texas January 16, 1863. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmons Grigsby. He had been a member of the old Baptist Mission church for some forty years.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Martin of the home; three sons, Daniel, James and Henry Grigsby, all of Stilwell; 28 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
