Services for William L. Hunter, 82-year-old Hammon pioneer, were conducted Wednesday, April 1, 2 p.m., in the Assembly of God church, with Rev. Otto Goins, pastor, and Rev. Bill McCaskey, Fairview, officiating. Mr. Hunter died in the Cheyenne Hospital early Monday March 30. He was married to Miss Jennie(sic) Holbrooks on August 16, 1919. Mr. Hunter, when a young man came to Hammon from Caddo County, Texas. He had lived in Hammon and Clinton areas since the early days. He had been making his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Buster Drinnon. Survivors are his daughter, Mrs. Drinnon; a son, David Levi Hunter, Fort Chaffee, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; six sisters, Ida Mae Reimer, Cordell; Sarah Ran-Randall,(sic) Cynthia Randall, Evy Bogges, Iona Randall, Martha Pixler, and a brother, Tom J. Hunter, Bristow. Burial was in Red Hill cemetery.
